with the greatest distrust, which was not diminished by the mode in which the sale of the manuscript was negotiated, and was heightened
by the seventy-six manuscripts announced in connection with this find, forty-six of which were said to contain palimpsests, while one offered at once the wanting literary references of the authors who there made their first appearance..."
