The case isn’t 5800 manuscripts against 11. There are only 500 manuscripts that even contain I John 5 and only 262 manuscripts (INTF) even contain this portion of I John 5:7-8. 253 of the 262 we have are later than the 10th Century. It’s “262 verses 11” and 475 of those are after the 7th Century. If you extend it to the 10th Century (where we find our first Greek marginal attestation) it would be 9 verses 1. The vast majority of the manuscripts that exclude I John 5:7 are after the 12th Century.

That’s a whole different narrative and reality.

Skeptical of the 262 number.
Yes it is inaccurate to say only 262 manuscripts contain 1st John 5:7-8, since this only involves the manuscripts indexed on INTF, not all manuscripts of 1st John 5 in its entirety. INTF has not indexed every manuscript yet (I can attest, as me and a friend have actually gone through most of the manuscripts of 1st John 5 in Greek).
The TuT/Snapp list is mostly accurate, but it has some few mishaps such as listing minuscules 2 and 36 as omissions of the Heavenly Witnesses when these manuscripts contain the Gospels alone, and the list contains tons of old dates for manuscripts (e.g. 0142 as 8th-9th century when it is 10th century).
