You can control an iPad from a Windows PC using third-party remote desktop apps like Splashtop or AnyViewer, which allow you to mirror the screen and interact with the iPad via your PC. Alternatively, you can use the iPad as a second monitor for your Windows PC with apps like Space Desk and the AirDroid Cast app, or connect them via cable to sync files with iTunes.

Method 1: Control with remote desktop apps
  • Install a remote desktop app:
On your PC, download and install an app like Splashtop Business or AnyViewer. On the iPad, install the corresponding client app (Splashtop SOS or AnyViewer).
    • Start the connection:
Launch the app on your iPad and follow the instructions to get a unique session code.
    • Enter the code:
On your Windows PC, enter the session code from the iPad into the app to establish a connection.
    • Remote control:
You can now control the iPad's screen from your PC.

You can't directly edit your iPad's home screen pages from Windows because Apple's iOS/iPadOS doesn't support it, but you can use your PC to plan layouts with apps like Coohom or Notion, then manually mirror or implement on your iPad, or use features like Stage Manager for Mac-like windowing when connected via Sidecar (or similar) for a visual experience on the iPad. The core home screen management (moving, adding, deleting apps/widgets) happens on the iPad by touch-and-hold, dragging, and using the Edit mode.

To move multiple pages of iPad app icons,
use the multi-select method by touching and holding one app, then tapping others with a second finger to group them. You can then drag the entire stack to a new location or page.
This video demonstrates how to move multiple apps at once on an iPad:

Step 1: Enter "jiggle" mode
  • Touch and hold any app icon on your Home Screen until they all start to jiggle.
  • Alternatively, you can touch and hold an empty space on the Home Screen, as shown in this YouTube video.

Step 2: Select multiple icons
  • Keep your first finger on the app icon you are holding.
  • With your second finger, tap all the other app icons you want to move.
  • A small badge with a count of how many apps you have selected will appear on the icon you are holding.

Step 3: Move the stack of apps
  • While still holding the first app with one finger, drag the entire stack to a new page or a different spot on the same page.
  • You can drag the stack to the right or left edge of the screen to move it to the next page.
  • To create a new page, drag an app to the right edge of the screen, and a new page will appear.
  • You can also move apps to the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
You can watch this video to see how to move apps to a different page:
