We thus have three (auto)biographical writings at our disposal that originate, directly or indirectly, from him: the Russian preface (1851), the Greek *Life of Simonides* by an unknown Kallinikos Hieromonachos (1853), and the English biographical memoir by an alleged...
Letter to Volkonsky (11 June 1851) in Simonidis 2012, 279–280

Thanks - we have looked closely at the 1853 work, although without a transcription of that work, we may not have really pulled out “Life of Simonides”.

We can ask Bossina and Nikolos if they have transcription or translation.

The evidence is extremely strong for 1853 authenticity, helping in authenticating Kallinikos, although Benvenuto tried to say it was created for the 1863 controversies. Very weak scholarship, I believe it was an attempt to support a Canfora error.
