(Here Aleph conflates the readings of two groups of minuscule MSS. It follows that though these MSS are much later in date than Aleph they reflect an earlier form of the text. In 6:3/4 Aleph repeats this reading in a clear case of assimilation The statement of evidence in examples 37. 38 .39 and 49 is taken from The Greek New Testament According to the Majonty Text [Thomas Nelson. 1985].)

Three are very similar conflations, but we work with 6:5 because the apparatus has it all in one verse! The conflation still combines two variants within the verse.

COMMENTS: The evidence listed in braces omits the words "And I saw." Although it is possible that the words "and see" were omitted by accident when copyists' eyes jumped from "and" to "and," it is also possible that copyists who understood the command as given to John either added "and see" or changed "and I saw" to "and see."

The BS4 apparatus has a “vid” after Codex A, but the Münster online apparatus is more current,
and it is certain of the reading. I have looked at the online image of Codex A, and I am certain
of the reading. The mss א A C 1 4 2 19 2 6 have the spelling ιδον which supports εἶδον. In
²⁴ only the letters ειδ are visible but this probably supports εἶδον. The TR reading, though
not attested letter for letter by any Greek manuscript, essentially follows Codex Sinaiticus.
Manuscripts 296 and 2049 are, remember, merely handwritten copies of the Textus Receptus

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour,
and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls,
having a golden cup in her hand
full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

Notice that the next verse, v. , ends with τῆς γῆς. Perhaps some copyist left off his task near the end of v. 4, came back to resume copying, and his eye picked up where he thought he left off, but he was at the end of v. 5 instead. The Sahidic Coptic reads "of her fornication with those of the
earth," and the Bohairic Coptic reads "...with all the earth." Hoskier does not account for the uncial P here, but usually when 046 82 627 920 side against other uncials, P is opposed to 046 as well

The codex contains only the text of the Book of Revelation with the commentary on that Bοοk by Oecumenius. The text is written in two columns per page, in 24 lines per page.[2]
The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type. Textual value is higher than Codex Sinaiticus (in Revelation) and is comparable with manuscripts Codex Alexandrinus, Codex Ephraemi, Minuscule 2062, and Minuscule 2344. It is one of the best witnesses for the Book of Revelation, sometimes even superior to the Papyrus 47.[3] Aland placed it in Category I.[4] It was not examined by the Claremont Profile Method.[5]
