Introduction to Esaias in Codex Sinaiticus

Of the two people who wrote Arabic notes in the margins of Codex Sinaiticus, one (called “Arabic A") made most of his notes (seven of eight) in the pages of Isaiah. Beside Isa 1:10 he wrote "The Prophet rebukes the leaders of Israel”; another note appears at 2:1,10. There are lectionary notes at the end of 5:6, the beginning of 5:7,16, and an illegible note at 5:17.

1:10 - 1:31 & 2:10 (same page) -10:1 12 (ref to 13:3) 18:1 31:1 33:6 42:10 56:7

Thank you, Phillip!

Do you know if anyone in recent years has addressed the many Arabic margin notes in Codex Sinaiticus?

It has been somewhat neglected. There are two different groups of writings, and afawk there has not been any real palaeographic study.

And I do have a page with pictures of the notes.
