three coequal coeternal consubstantial persons in the Godhead - the Athanasian Creed

The demand of the "orthodox Trinitarian" often boils down to 2 elements.

1) three coequal coeternal consubstantial persons in the Godhead

2) affirming the Creeds, including the Athanasian Creed.

This thread will examine these demands historically and scripturally.

Special attention will be given to the events around the 1536 Geneva Confession, including the fact that the side with John Calvin refused to accept the Athanasian Creed. (In fact, there was even laughter when it was read.)

On this forum, we will also examine the very "big tent" of what is called Trinitarian.
