Version smorgasbording is a term for picking and choosing from many versions to find the wording that fits what you are trying to say.

While this can be seen in a number of ministries, at Homestead Heritage abusing the Bible in this way became a high art form. This thread will look at the phenomenon.

searching for any Bible in the 2009 Homestead Heritage Fair

In 2009, I was an invited guest to the Homestead Heritage Fair. I had defended the community against various strident attacks in the "Factnet Wars" of the early 2000s. There was some ongoing correspondence with Homestead Heritage on fundamental doctrinal issues. And I got a chance to meet with a woman at Homestead Heritage who had dealt with severe health conditions through natural remedies, an area where I had made some small contributions in pointing out possible directions.

This post will discuss my attempt to find a Bible at the Fair. Of course, I had my trusted sword, the Authorized Version, with me. However, I wondered what versions were for sale at the Fair. Or would be given to visitors who asked for a Bible.
