where and when the equivalence of yahweh and jove was first clearly noted

The internet brought many of these topics to the fore. One irony is that it was in the "sacred name" circles that this equivalence was first noted.

15 years ago, on the sacred/qodesh name forum, the Latin aspect of this, which Nehemia Gordon studied with Latin professors, was properly pointed out!

Remember, Jupiter is "jove"-pater. (This looks to be the only tweak needed for what was written in 2001.)

Have we been duped?
YermeYah - May, 2001
http://www.eliyah.com/forum2/Forum1/HTML/002719.html

Continuing on, the question: what is the Latin pronunciation of the demon JOVE? Again, Jove was another name for Jupiter, both Latin for the Greek Zeus.

According to Latin pronunciation rules, the letter "J", anciently written as "I", when at the beginning of a word, is always pronounced as the letter "Y".

The letter "O" can be either have a long or short pronunciation. If long, it sounds like the "o" in "go". If short, it sounds like the "a" in "father".

The letter "V" always has a "W" sound in Latin.

The letter "E" can be long or short. If long, it has the sound of "a" in "say". If short, it has the sound of "e" in "red".

To hear the Latin pronunciation of letters for yourself, you can go to the following link...note: You will need Real Audio on your computer in order to hear the sounds:

Latin Sounds

That gives four possible pronunciations for the Latin Jove:

1. Yowe (yohweh)
2. Yowa (yohway)
3. Yawe (yahweh)
4. Yawa (yahway)

====================
Amazing. And Nehemia adds how this helped create the yahweh abomination in the 1800s, by scholars, especially Gesenius, using the pagan information overlaid falsely on the Hebrew.

qodesh namers smell the coffee

For those with a historical sense, now we can find this simple jove-yahweh linguistic study (without more background like the Nehemia value-added) going back to 1998, again on the Eliyah forum.

"We find that the "chief of demons" (because all "other gods" ARE demons), was in Greek, called "Zeus" (the Greek's god). This same god was revered among the Romans with the Latin name "Jupiter". But what was Jupiter's OTHER NAME?! His other name was just as popular, and any layman can search this out by looking in a good dictionary to see if I am telling you the truth . . . his Latin name was "JOVE".

Now, just as in Hebrew, Latin has no "J" sound. Latin "J" is pronounced as the English "Y". Moreover, there is no "V" sound. "V" in Latin is pronounced as the English "W". Thirdly, if a Latin word ends with an "E", it is pronounced as a short "eh" sound. And fourthly, a short "O" sound (such as in the word "Jove") is something like "AH". If we pronounce "JOVE" as the ancient Romans would have done, according to what we have been taught, it would be very close to, if not the same as "Yahweh".

This even goes back around the time when I was using yahweh!

"if we pronounce Jove as an ancient Roman would have done ... Yahweh"

The folks who spilled the beans at Eliyah had been astute enough to follow the 1997 article written about here:

Yahweh is Not The True Pronunciation of YHWH
Mark Sydor - 2006
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.culture.language.ancient-hebrew/18

Steven: The copyright is overstated and the gentleman has no real contact information. Any contact help appreciated, as the original should have some pictures and Mark may be able to give more backdrop and a well-formatted copy of the writing online. This is a rough first pass from the online link above, I plan to check references for url and placement, some minor tweaks, etc. I saw one weakness below where the writer is contra the word God.

Yahweh is believed by many to be the pronunciation of YHWH, (written in modern Hebrew), the four letters that make up the Creator's precious and personal name. We too once believed that Yahweh could be the pronunciation of the Creator’s name. That was until we found conclusive proof that Yahweh is the ancient Latin pronunciation of Jove (spelled Iove in classical Latin), who is Roman’s chief heathen deity Jupiter, king of the Gods. We will prove conclusively and thoroughly that Yahweh is not the pronunciation of the Creator’s precious name YHWH.

#1. We will prove through authoritative Latin pronunciation charts and many references that Yahweh is the pronunciation of the ancient Roman heathen deity Jove spelled Iove in classical Latin, who we will then prove
is Jupiter king of the gods.

#2. We will prove through many references that the Romans were worshiping the name Yahweh spelled Iove in classica lLatin as their chief heathen deity who represented Jupiter well before they ever even came into contact with the Hebrews. Proving that the Romans did not adopt it from the Hebrews.

#3. We will prove through many references that the Hebrews were forced to forsake the name of the Creator YHWH, to worship the Roman heathen deity Yahweh spelled Iove in classical Latin who represented Jupiter.
This further enforces the fact that the Romans were using that name first as their own heathen deity because, why would the Romans force the Hebrews to worship Yahweh, if they were already worshipping it?

#4. We will show that all of the proofs people try and use for the name Yahweh are twisted and manipulated half references that don't show the truth at all. And it shows us that amazingly some people would rather lie and manipulate references rather than change and repent of their false and untrue ways.

#5. Finally we will prove conclusively through many references that Jupiter /Jove spelled Iove in classical Latin pronounced Yahweh, is the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Please note: We do
not purposely want to offend any believers. We just sincerely hope to inform others through the many scriptures, references, and facts in this study, about the heathen origins of the name Yahweh. False and heathen names should not be used for worship under any circumstance. We can see this from…

Exodus 23:13 (all verses given from AV)

And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect:
and make no mention of the name of other gods,
neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

and from…

Joshua 23:7

That ye come not among these nations,
these that remain among you;
neither make mention of the name of their gods,
nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them,
nor bow yourselves unto them:

and from..

Isaiah 42:8

I am the LORD: that is my name:
and my glory will I not give to another,
neither my praise to graven images.

and from the many countless other scriptures commanding against idolatry. Any false names used in this study are being used for reference and educational purposes only. Also note: Many people falsely claim that no one is to know the true and correct pronunciation of the Creator’s name until the Messiah returns. These people use this as an excuse to cling to their false names and say “it doesn’t matter what name you worship for no one is to know the name now anyways.” Near the end of this study, we will show through scripture that the true Name is to be declared throughout the earth and that people will be calling upon it “before” the Creator is to return. The manner of rendering JHWH distinguishes Buber's translation from all others. This problem is discussed by Franz Rosenzweig in his essay "Der Ewige" [The eternal], 23 a title that represents Moses Mendelssohn's solution and that was thereafter adopted by most of the German translators. Another solution would have been to adopt the old substitute pronunciation for JHWH-adonai, Herr, "Lord" -but Christianity had already claimed this title for Jesus, and so it was abandoned. The rendering Yahwe, adopted by the Christian scholars of Old Testament, was regarded by both translators as "the degradation of God's name to that of an idol," which dispelled the peculiar mystery of Revelation." pg 348 The Hebrew Humanism of Martin Buber by Grete Schaeder Translated by Noah J. Jacobs Wayne State University Press, Detroit, 1973

#1. The Name Yahweh Was the ancient Pronunciation of the Romans Chief Heathen Deity Jupiter Known as Jove (spelled Iove in classical Latin) To prove this is very simple. We will now use authoritative classical Latin pronunciation charts and many references to show that Jove was spelled Iove in classical Latin and was pronounced Yahweh. Then we will prove through many credible references that Jove / Iove / Yahweh was the Romans chief heathen deity Jupiter. (Please remember that we will also prove later on in this study that the Romans were worshipping this name as their heathen deity way before they ever came into contact with the Hebrews and then forced the Hebrews to worship it.) For those that don't quite understand or feel like they are getting confused keep reading for everything will be explained in a simple way. Let us now turn to the foremost expert in classical Latin, Sydney Allen of Cambridge University and observe his classical Latin chart entitled “Vox Latina” to prove that the heathen deity Jove is pronounced Yahweh in classical latin. Please note that there was no letter "J" until at least the 14th century. Classical Latin used an "I" instead of a "J". Also note that the "U" is a later addition that replaced the "V" Also note that classical Latin letters have the same look as English letters however, some letters in classical Latin have a different sound / pronunciation. What we will do now is prove that the Roman heathen deity Jove spelled "Iove" in classical Latin, is pronounced Yahweh using the Latin pronunciation / sound of those letters. Then after we prove that Iove is in fact pronounced Yahweh in clasical Latin, we will then show many references proving that "Iove" is indeed the spelling of Jove in classical Latin and was the Romans chief deity Jupiter. Then following that in the next topic we will show that the Romans were worshipping Iove / Yahweh as their chief heathen deity well before they ever came into contact with the Hebrews; proving that the Romans did not adopt Yahweh from the Hebrews but had it as their own heathen deity all along. Let us begin. Here we see from the pronunciation chart below that: I pronounces a double "ee" sound as in deep O pronounces an "ah" sound as in pot V pronounces the consonant "W" as in water or "00" as in fool E pronounces an "eh" sound as in pet I (ee) + 0 (ah) + V (w) + E (eh) = ee+ah+w+eh = eeahweh = Yahweh Vox Latina {'English' refers throughout to the standard or received pronunciation of southern British English.

Almost all of the personalized, familial stories of Jupiter are simple transplantations of Greek myths of Zeus. However, the association of Jupiter Feretrius with the sacred oak on the Capitol, though resembling the parallel Zeus-oak relationship, is more ancient than thegreek influence; the temple of Jupiter Feretrius probably was Rome’s most ancient. The name Jove when used, often used synonymously with Jupiter, is the genitive of the name, being perhaps closer to the root-original than is Jupiter, and when used nominatively refers to Jupiter as the sky god.
Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary Of Folklore, Mythology, And Legend, 1972, pg 563

As you can clearly see the pronunciation of Iove in classical Latin is pronounced Yahweh. We will now prove through many references that Jove is spelled Iove in classical latin, and pronounced Yahweh in classical Latin, is the heathen deity Jupiter.

Many References To Show That Iove pronounced Yahweh In Classical Latin Is Jove And Is The Roman Heathen Deity Jupiter

Remember Yahweh is spelled Iove and is pronounced Yahweh in classical Latin. These references will now show that Yahweh / Iove known as Jove is the ancient heathen deity Jupiter. (Some people try and claim that the Romans just adopted the name from the Hebrews. We will prove that completely false in the next topic right after these many references showing that Iove / Yahweh is the heathen deity Jupiter.)

The Word of Yahweh" (first edition), the Assembly of Yahweh, Eaton Rapids, Michigan , has the following footnote. It is found on page 1106 and is a footnote for Acts 14:12. Footnote #81 for the word "Jupiter". ; "The
Greek text has Zeus here. Some" English translations say Jupiter, which is Latin. The Aramaic text says, Mariah Elaha"! It is interesting to note that "Jove" is another name for Jupiter, and would be written "IOUE" Latin.

So we have just proved that through classical Latin pronunciation charts and many references that the Romans chief deity Jove, (Jupiter) and spelled Iove in classical Latin, is pronounced Yahweh. You need to ask
yourself this question. According to the scriptures, would the Creator YHWH permit the forsaking of his Name to pronounce and worship the name of an Idol? Now people will try and claim that the Romans adopted this name from the Hebrews and that this name was originally the Hebrew name for the Creator. This claim is 100% false and cannot be backed up with any proof. However, when we do examine the evidence what we see, is that the Romans were worshiping this name Yahweh /Jove well before they ever came into contract with the Hebrews. Lets us now continue to this next topic.

#2. Solid evidence that proves that the Romans were worshipping the name Yahweh as a heathen deity well before they ever came into contact with the Hebrews. The references below will show that the Romans wereworshipping the name Yahweh / Jupiter / Jove well before they came into contact with the Hebrews and as far back as 650 BCE. This proves that there is no possible way that the Romans ever adopted this name from the Hebrews. Look below.

Ancient History Sourcebook: Livy: The Roman Way of Declaring, War, c. 650 BCE, History of Rome,1.32:"
says: Hear, 0 Jupiter, and hear ye lands [Le., of such and such a nation], let Justice hear! I am a public messenger of the Roman people. Justly and religiously I come, and let my words bear credit! Then he makes his demands, and follows with a solemn appeal to Jupiter. If! demand unjustly and impiously that these men and goods [in question] be given to me, the herald of the Roman people, then suffer me never to enjoy again my native country!" Capitol, highest of the seven hills of ancient Rome, historic and religious center of the city. The great temple of Jupiter Capitolinus , on its southern summit, was dedicated in 509 B. C.; it was foremost among the temples and altars of Rome.

Capitoline Hill. The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001.
The numbers and architecture of Roman temples reflect the city's receptivity to all the religions of the world. The oldest Roman temples reflect Etruscan temples, like the great temple on the Capitoline Hill, dedicated in 509 BC to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, the Capitoline Triad.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
“In the early centuries of the Republic, the centre of Rome was dominated by the great temple Jupiter on the Capitol (jointly dedicated to Juno and Minerva), which seems to have been in a far greater scale then other early temples. It was an Etruscan building and must have been intended (as the passage of Livy suggests) to express the power and dominion of the ruling dynasty. The republican tradition, however, tried to claim this temple as its own – suggesting that, although built by kings, it was not actually dedicated to them, but in 509 B.C. by the first ever consuls of the regime.”

Religions of Rome Volume 2, A Sourcebook 1998 pg 24
His special priest was the Flamen dialis, and the chief temple stood on Capitoline hill. It was dedicated supposedly to Jupiter Optimus Maximus (‘Jupiter the Great and Good’) by Marcus Horatius at the beginning of the republican period (c.510 BC), though its origins probably went back to earlier times of the roman kingship.

Who’s Who in Classical Mythology, 1973, pg 255
The references above clearly show that the Romans were worshipping Jupiter pronounced Yahweh and spelled Iove in classical Latin, as far back as 650 BCE. That was way before the Hebrews and the Romans ever came into contact. So the bogus theory that the Romans adopted this name as their deity from the Hebrews, just simply isn't true. If anything, the Hebrews got this name from the Romans. We will show this in this next topic.

#3. Evidence That Proves The Romans Were Forcing The Hebrews To Forsake The Name Of Their Own Hebrew Deity To Worship The Roman Deity Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh
We have proven that the Romans were worshipping Yahweh / Jove / Jupiter way before they ever came into contact with the Hebrews. Still even after this, some unrepentive worshippers of the heathen Roman Deity Yahweh, who wish to cling to their idolatry, will even still try and worm their way out of it by still saying that the Romans adopted this name from the Hebrews. So now we will prove that not only did the Romans worship the name Yahweh/Jove /Jupiter before they came into contact with the Hebrews, we will now prove that the Roman’s forced the Hebrews to worship the name Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh. Once you see the numerous references proving this, it will make you ask this very important question… Why on earth would the Romans force the Hebrews to worship Yahweh /Jove /Jupiter, if they were already worshipping that name as their deity?
Obviously the Hebrews then were not worshipping that name as their deity. Observe the many references below. This first reference is from the famous and renowned historian Josephus. He has in his writings that the Romans forced the Hebrews to forsake the worship of their own deity to worship Roman deities.

You will even see that the Hebrews that didn't forsake the worship of their own deity to worship the Heathen Roman deities were either whipped, torn to pieces, or crucified. However, in that citadel dwelt the impious and wicked part of the [Jewish] multitude, from whom it proved that the citizens suffered many and sore calamities. And when the king had built an idol altar upon God's altar, he slew swine upon it, and so offered a sacrifice neither according to the law, nor the Jewish religious worship in that country. He also compelled them to forsake the worship which they paid their own God, and to adore those whom he took to be gods; and made them build temples, and raise idol altars in every city and village, and offer swine upon them every day. He also commanded them not to circumcise their sons, and threatened to punish any that should be found to have transgressed his injunction. He also appointed overseers, who should compel them to do what he commanded. And indeed many Jews were there who complied with the king's commands, either voluntarily, or out of fear of the penalty that was denounced. But the best men, and those of the noblest souls, did not regard him, but did pay a greater respect to the customs of their country than concern as to the punishment which he threatened to the disobedient; on which account they every day underwent great miseries and bitter torments; for they were whipped with rods, and their bodies were torn to pieces, and were crucified, while they were still alive, and breathed. They also strangled those women and their sons whom they had circumcised, as the king had appointed, hanging their sons about their necks as they were upon the crosses. And if there were any sacred book of the law found, it was destroyed, and those with whom they were found miserably perished also.
JOSEPHUS' WRITINGS - BOOK 12, CH.5
Now look below at more references below that also prove that the Romans forced the Hebrews to worship the heathen Roman deity Yahweh spelled Iove in classical Latin who represented Jupiter!!! In the temple at Jerusalem on the altar of bumt offering an altar to Jupiter was erected, "the abomination that maketh desolate" (Daniel 11:31), and a swine was sacrificed upon it (see ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION).

The immoral practices associated with heathen worship in those days established themselves in the temple. Cheyne, article "Bacchus," EB; Kent , History of the Jewish People, I, 328-29; Josephus, Ant, XII, v, 4. International, Standard Bible Encyclopedia “Abomination of Desolation… In Dan. 11:31 the reference is to the act of Antiochus Epiphanes, prototype of the final Antichrist, who, in June, 168 B.C. desecrated the temple at Jerusalem . He built an alter to Jupiter Olympius on the alter of burnt offering, dedicated the temple to this heathen deity, and offered swine’s flesh.” Unger’s Bible Dictionary, 1981, pg 10
“Abomination of Desolation… A notable fulfillment of Dan. 11:31, which the Jews were quick to discern, was the stoppage of the daily sacrifice by Antiochus Epiphanes in June, 168B.C., and the erection on the brazen alter of an idolatrous one, on which sacrifices were offered to Jupiter Olympius (I Macc. 1:54; 6:7; II Mac. 6:2; Jos. Antiq. Xii. 5, 4; 7, 6).” The New Westminster Dictionary Of The Bible, 1970, pg 7

The real transgression of this wicked king took place when he dared to erect an idol altar to this god upon the very altar of God - the altar of burnt offerings.

"Antiochus, after compelling the Jews to call the Temple of Jerusalem THE TEMPLE OF JUPITER OLYMPIUS, built an idol altar upon the altar of God. Upon this altar swine were offered every day, and the broth of their flesh was sprinkled about the Temple ."
McCLINTOK AND STRONG 25.

By peace - Under colour of kindness. Against the prince of princes - He fought against God, affronting God's laws, profaning God's worship, and temple, and setting up the image and worship of Jupiter there. Without hand- by a disease whereof he died, IMacc vi, 8.

WESLEY'S NOTES, DANIEL 8 ABOUT Daniel's prophecy, Kitto says, "This appears to have been a prediction of the pollution of the temple by Antiochus Epiphanes, who caused an idolatrous altar to be built on the altar of burnt offerings, whereon unclean things were offered to Jupiter Olympius, to whom the temple itself was dedicated"
(Encyclopedia of Biblical Literature, John Kitto, Vol. 1, p. 22).

Then Antiochus dispatched troops to Judea in 167 BC., destroying the temple and its sanctuary. (However, the basic structure of the temple remained intact and was later restored.) This act did away with the daily sacrifice. Antiochus then set up an image directly on the alter of the temple* thus defiling and making it desolate. The image he set up was that of Jupiter Olympus. This is the same image that the historic counterfeit church has pawned off to the world as the image of Jesus Christ. As if this were not enough, Antiochus further alienated the Jews by offering swine's blood upon the alter.
A Manual of Ancient History, Rawlinson p. 255.

The Romans prohibited Jews from even entering the city of Jerusalem after the city's destruction in AD. 70. The Jewish revolt of AD. 132-135 failed and Jews was unable to wrest the site of Jerusalem from the Romans. The Romans rebuilt and fortified the former capital of Judaism, naming it Colonia Aelia Capitolina, which they considered a Roman colony. A heathen temple dedicated to Jupiter Capitolinus was built atop Mt. Moriah where the Jewish Temple had stood.
The New Unger's Bible Dictionary. (6.)

He cast down the place of his sanctuary. He did not burn and demolish the temple, but he cast it down, when he profaned it, made it the temple of Jupiter Olympius, and set up his image in it. He also cast down the truth to the ground, trampled upon the book of the law, that word of truth, tore it, and burnt it, and did what he could to destroy it quite, that it might be lost and forgotten for ever. These were the projects of that wicked
prince. This indeterminate period, which has now spanned more than nineteen hundred years comes between the sixty-ninth week of years and the seventieth of the prophecy. The seventieth week, a week of seven years, is yet to be fulfilled for Israel . As you read of this you will see that this is what the book of Revelation and other prophetic passages call "the great tribulation," the time of Jacob's trouble. It lies ahead; it has
been broken off from the other sixty-nine and is yet to be fulfilled.
RAY STEDMAN, COMMENTARY ON DANIEL 9.

Again we ask… Why on earth would the Romans force the Hebrews to forsake the worship of their "own deity" to worship "pagan Roman deities", if the Hebrews were already worshipping "Yahweh /Jove (Jupiter)" which was already established as the Chief deity of the Romans for centuries? Why would the Romans force the Hebrews to dedicate the temple to Yahweh if the Hebrews already had that temple dedicated to Yahweh? Obviously the Hebrews were not worshipping the name Yahweh and that clearly is not the pronunciation of YHWH. The fact is that there is absolutely no evidence to show that the Romans borrowed the name from the Hebrews. However, the evidence is clear that the Romans were worshipping this name well before they came into contact with the Hebrews and they even forced the Hebrews to worship it. Don't a lot of Yahweh worshippers bash the Roman Catholic church for worshipping pagan idols? Most Catholics worship the name "God" which is an ancient pagan Canaanite deity. The irony is, these same Yahweh worshippers who bash the Catholics are more Roman then they could ever know. For they worship Yahweh the Chief heathen deity of the Romans, a name that most Romans don't even worship anymore.

#4: Showing the references people try and use to support the name Yahweh are twisted and manipulated half references that don't show the truth at all. (A). The first is an inacurate and weak reference citing Theodoret and Clement of Alexandria . The pronunciation Yahweh is indicated by transliteration of the name into Greek in early Christian literature, in the form iaoue (Clement of Alexandria) or iabe (Theodoret);"
Eerdman's Bible Dictionary, 1979 page 478.

Yahweh worshipers use this reference to claim that Clement used IAOUE, to try and show that Clement said the pronunciation of the divine name is Yahweh. However if we actually check Clements own writings,
Clements's Stromata Book V., 6:34, it says that Clement actually only used IAOU, which would have a pronunciation of Yah-oo. Check out some more references showing that Clement only used IAOU. The Catholic Encyclopedia of 1910 in the article “Jehovah (Yahweh)” says: “Clement of Alexandria (“Strom.”, V,6 in P.G., Ix, col. 60), Jaou;” The 1908 Catholic Encyclopedia states that the most complete edition of the Greek writings of Clement of Alexandria is that of J. Potter, (Oxford , 1715). These writings were reproduced in Migne, P.G. VIII, IX Vol. IX of Mingne’s Patrologia Graeca. Column 60 of Mingne’s P.G. IX contains Clement of Alexandria’s Greek Stromata Book V. Chapter 6:34. reads; (IAOU) Now let us see what the renowned scholar Heinisch has to say about the weak reference of Theodoret for the name Yahweh. The noted scholar Heinisch points to the weakness of the evidence that iabe, i.e "Yahweh" is the pronunciation of he writes, "The pronunciation of the divine name "Yahweh" REST UPON SAMARITAN TRADITION as given by Theodoret. Theology of the old testament, pg.39 .

Lets examine more references...
In G.H. Parke-Taylor’s book Yahweh: The Divine Name In The Bible, p. 79, we read that Genebrardus, in 1567, was the first to suggest the pronunciation Jave, largely on the strength of Theodorets's assertion that
the Samaritans used the pronunciation Iabe, subsequent to the time when the Tetragrammaton was stopped by the Jews.
George W. Buchanan, “Some Unfinished Business With the Dead Sea Scrolls,” Rev Q 13.49-52 (1988), 416 points out that there was only one group in antiquity to pronounce the divine name similar to the popular form,
“Yahweh.” And this only because Theodoret (fifth-century CE Antiochene theologian) claimed that the Samaritans pronounced the divine name as Iabe. The universal peril led the Samaritans, eager for safety, to repudiate all connection and kinship with the Jews. The sent ambassadors and an epistle asking to be recognized as belonging to the Greek party, and to have their temple on Mt. Gerizim named “The Temple of Jupiter Hellenius” The
request was granted. This was evidently the final breach between the two races indicated in John 4:9,
“For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.”

2003 ANTIOCHIANS Bible Study – International Standard Bible Encyclopedia – ANTIOCHIANS Definition Ant, XII, v; Stanley, History of the Jewish Church, III, section 48; Riggs, History of the Jewish People, chapter ii, sections 15-26 (Kent’s Hist. Series, IV). Dwight M. Pratt

As you can see from the above reference, the Samaritans in order to prevent the peril caused by Antiochus, and to find safety, changed to the worship of Jupiter. That is why the vowels of Iabe pronounce Yahweh because, the Samaritans changed to Jupiter worship and dedicated their temple as such. Josephus also backs this up Jodephus' writings book 12 ch 5 where he says, When the Samaratins saw the Jews under these sufferings, they no longer confessed that thet were of their kindred. Nor that the Temple on Mt. Gerizzim belonged to the almighty God. He later quotes an epistle sent from them to antiochus where it says,

"Wetherefore beseech thee, our benefactor and Savior, to give oder to Apollonius, the governor of this part of the country, and to Nicanor, the procurator of thy affairs to, to give us no disturbance, nor to lay
to our charge what the Jews are accused for, since we are aliens from their nation, and from their customs; but let our temple, which at present hath no name at all be named the Temple of Jupiter Hellenius."

As you can see again from another reference, the Samaritans in order to avoid the same persecution from Antiochus that the Jews were facing, they willingly changed to Jupiter / Yahweh worship. This is where the "tradition" comes from. Once again things point directly back to Jupiter.

(B). The twisted and manipulated reference of The Encyclopedia Judaica pg. 680 Most people do not show the full reference and cut it off half way to mislead people into thinking it says something it really doesn't. Below we will show you the part of the reference the Yahweh worshipers only want you to see. Then we are going to show the full reference below it.
What they only quote...

"The true pronunciation of the name YHWH was never lost. Several early Greek writers of the Christian church testify that the name was pronounced "Yahweh".

If you take the reference just as it is it would lead you to believe it is in full support of the name Yahweh but let us now look at the reference in its entirety.

"The true pronunciation of the name YHWH was never lost. Several early Greek writers of the Christian church testify that the name was pronounced "Yahweh". This is confirmed, at least for the vowel of the first syllable of the name, by the shorter form YAH, which is sometimes used in poetry (e.g .. EX. 15 :2) and the - yahu or - yah that serves as the fmal syllable in very many Hebrew names."

The only part of the name that this reference confirms is the first syllable YAH. That's it. Once again it is amazing how people would twist a reference like this rather then submitting to the truth! (C). The faulty reference of IAOUIEE ( London Papyri. xlvi, 446-482) and The Twisting of the Josephus reference FLAVIUS - B00K25, CH5. SECTION7 There are people that use the iaouiee the "London Papyri xlvi, 446-482) as evidence to show that the name is pronounced Yahweh.

Instead of going into all of the potential problems with this reference lets look at one big one. Here is a reference from the renowned historian Josephus. A reference that many Yahweh
worshippers themselves like to use and also lie about. In; JOSEPHUS' WRITINGS FLAVIUS - BOOK 25, CH. 5, setion7, It says That the sacred name consisted of four vowels.

"A mitre also of fIne linen encompassed his head, which was tied by a blue ribbon, about which there was another golden crown, in which was engraven the sacred name [of God]: it consists of four vowels. However, the high priest did not wear these garments at other times, but a more plain habit; he only did it when he went into the most sacred part of the temple, which he did but once in a year, on that day when our custom is for all of us to keep a fast to God".
JOSEPHUS' WRITINGS FLAVIUS - BOOK 25, CH. 5, section 7
Four vowels !? If we know the “sacred name” consisted of four vowels, how on earth could iaouiee which consists of seven possibly be an applicable reference to the Creators name? It obviously can't. It is absolutely ridiculous that Yahweh worshippers will use one reference saying that the name consists of four vowels, then try and use another reference that has the name consisting of 7 letters and 5 vowels. Please also note in the Josephus reference where he says the Sacred Name consisted of 4 vowels, no where does he tell you which vowels they are. (Check reference above for yourself.) However Yahweh worshippers deceitfully try and supply you with their own vowels they themselves have chosen. Yahwehists like to manipulate this reference to claim it says the Creators name is pronounced Yahweh. Which it does not! So far we have shown many things.

#1. That Yahweh is the pronunciation of the Jove spelled Iove in classical Latin and that Iove is is the Romans cheif deity Jupiter king of the Gods.

#2. The Romans were worshiping Yahweh as their cheif deity well before they even came into contact with the Hebrews and as far back as 650 BCE.

#3. The Romans forced the Hebrews to forsake the worship of their own deity to worship Yahweh.

#4. The proofs that people use to support the name Yahweh are either weak, inaccurate or twisted references.

Let us now proceed with our final topic, showing that Yahweh / Jupiter is the abomination of desolation.

#5. Many references that show that Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh really is the Abomination of Desolation. Some people in the know will have already figured it out. For those who haven't yet it will horrify you to know that Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh is the Abomination of Desolation!!! Look at the many references below for yourself. In the temple at Jerusalem on the altar of burnt offering an altar to Jupiter was erected, "the abomination that maketh desolate" (Daniel 11 :31), and a swine was sacrificed upon it (see ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION). The immoral practices associated with heathen worship in those days established themselves in the temple. Cheyne, article "Bacchus," EB; Kent , History of the Jewish People, I, 328-29; Josephus, Ant, XII, v, 4. International Standard Bible Encyclopedia 31.

And arms - Not only of his own army, but many Jews. The sanctuary- Even the holy of holies. The abomination - The statue of Jupiter placed in the temple.
WESLEY'S NOTES - DANIEL 11

Daniel (Dan. 11 :31), in that section of his prophecies which is generally interpreted as referring to the fearful calamities that were to fall on the Jews in the time of Antiochus Epiphanes, says, "And they shall
place the abomination that maketh desolate." Antiochus Epiphanes caused an altar to be erected on the altar of burnt-offering, on which sacrifices were offered to Jupiter Olympus . (Compare 1 Macc. 1:57). The
same language is employed in Dan. 9:27 (comp Matt. 24: 15), where the reference is probably to the image-crowned standards which the Romans set up at the east gate of the temple (A.D. 70), and to which they paid
idolatrous honors. "Almost the entire religion of the Roman camp consisted in worshipping the ensign, swearing by the ensign, and in preferring the ensign before all other gods." These ensigns were an
"abomination" to the Jews, the "abomination of desolation." This word is also used symbolically of sin in general (Isa. 66:3); an idol (44:19); the ceremonies of the apostate Church of Rome (Rev. 17:4); a detestable act (Ezek. 22: 11). This was the abomination of the desolation of Jerusalem 1897
Eastman bible dictionary Under "Abomination"

Not content merely to stop the sacrifices, Antiochus desecrated the temple. "A bearded image of the pagan deity (Jupiter Olympus)... (was) set up upon the Temple altar. The Jews popularly spoke of
this as 'the abomination of desolation.' Greek soldiers and their paramours performed licentious heathen rites in the very Temple courts. Swine were sacrificed on the altar"
(Charles Pfeiffer, Between the Testaments, 1974, p. 81) . [3.]

The question itself that was asked: "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice? How long shall the prohibition of it continue? How long shall the pleasant land be made unpleasant by that severe interdict? How long shall the transgression of desolation (the image of Jupiter), that great transgression which makes all our sacred things desolate, how long shall that stand in the temple? How long shall the sanctuary and the host, the holy place and the holy persons that minister in it, be trodden under foot by the oppressor?"
MATTHEW HENRY, COMMENTARY ON DANIEL 8.

“Abomination of Desolation… A notable fulfillment of Dan. 11:31,which the Jews were quick to discern , was the stoppage of the daily sacrifice by Antiochus Epiphanes in June, 168 B.C., and the erection on the brazen alter of an idolatrous one, on which sacrifices were offered to Jupiter Olympius (I Macc. 1:54; 6:7; II Mac.6:2; Jos. Antiq. Xii. 5, 4; 7, 6).”
The New Westminster Dictionary Of The Bible, 1970, pg 7 "Abomination of Desolation....

In Dan. 11:31 the reference is to the act of Antiochus Epiphanes, prototype of the final Antichrist, who, in June, 168 B.C. desecrated the temple at Jerusalem . He built an alter to Jupiter Olympius on the alter of burnt offering, dedicated the temple to this heathen deity, and offered swine’s flesh.”
Unger’sBible Dictionary, 1981, pg 10 15.

But some said, He casteth out devils by Beelzebub - These he answers, ver. 17. Others, to try whether it were so or no, sought a sign from heaven. These he reproves in ver. 29 and following verses. Beelzebub signifies the Lord of flies, a title which the heathens gave to Jupiter whom they accounted the chief of their gods, and yet supposed him to be employed in driving away flies from their temple and sacrifices. The Philistines worshipped a deity under this name, as the God of Ekron: from hence the Jews took the name, and applied it to the chief of the devils. Mark iii, 22.
WESLEY'S NOTES -Luke 11

The phrase at the end of the verse reads, "and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." The context of the final word "desolate" refers to the perpetrator, or "causer of desolation" (Jamison, Fausett and Brown Commentary, vol. 1, p. 757), hence, the "Desolator"- Satan. To paraphrase: "the abomination shall defile the sanctuary until the end when the appointed doom or judgment falls upon Satan." There was another later and more specific abomination of the holy place accomplished by emperor Hadrian, who with " ... studied insult to the Jews, set up the figure of a boar over the Bethlehem gate of the city which rose upon the site and ruins of Jerusalem (Euseb. Chron., 1, i.p. 45, ed. 1658), but he erected a temple to Jupiter upon the site of the Jewish temple and caused an image of himself to be set up in the part which answered to the most holy place" (Euseb. Chron, Vol. 1, p. 23,ed 1658).

There are many more references that can be shown to prove that Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh is the abomination of desolation. Many Yahwehists themselves will tell you that Jupiter is the Abomination of Desolation. What they will fail to tell you is that the ancient pronunciation of Jupiter. the abomination of desolation is Yahweh known as Jove and spelled Iove in classical Latin. Below are pictures of statues and coins of the heathen Idol Yahweh / Iove / Iovi with references. Behold the abomination Yahweh /Jupiter that many people worship. The Gods of Ancient Rome 2000 pg 111 A Latin inscription from Beirut calls him:
"Regi deo[r(um)] Iovi Optimo Maximo ( Heliopolitano) ," "to the king of the gods, Jupiter the Best and Greatest, of Heliopolis. " Another, from Heliopolis itself, says: "Iovi Optimo Maximo ( Heliopolitano ) Regulo," "Jupiter the Best and Greatest of He Ii opolis, ruler." Regulo here is derived from the verb rego, to rule. Astrological art was especially used to emphasize his role as cosmic emperor. (Astrology and Judaism in Late Antiquity, A Dissertation, Lester 1. Ness) from part of his article called"BAALBEK "
Figures of Jupiter Heliopolitanus standing between two bullocks or calves have been found at Baalbek, dating from Roman times. [Rene Dussaud, "Jupiter heliopolitain", Syria 1 (1920), pp. 3*15; Nina Jidejian, Baalbek Heliopolis "City of the Sun", (Beirut, 1975), ill. no. 135-140] The Religions of the Roman Empire 1970 pg. 60 Lev 19:4 Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I [am] the YHWH your Creator. The Religions of the Roman Empire 1970 pg. 61 Lev 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up [any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I [am] YHWH your Creator. Some people like to falsely claim that we won't know the Pronunciation of YHWH until the Messiah returns. They say this so that they can worship what ever they want. The fact is the scriptures say that the remnant who is to be saved will call upon the name and will be delivered. look below. Joe 2:32 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the YHWH shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the YHWH hath said, and in the remnant whom the YHWH shall call. Also the Messiah says that no one will see him until.... Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me
henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of YHWH. So here we know that according to scripture the Name will be known. For it says the remnant who will be delivered will be calling on the name of YHWH. Also the Messiah will not return until the Name is declared.

Conclusion This study has proven conclusively without any doubt that Yahweh is not the pronunciation of the Creator's name YHWH through scriptures, facts, and references.

#1. It proved that the name Yahweh is the ancient pronunciation of the Romans Chief deity Jupiter / Jove spelled Iove in classical Latin.

#2. It is proven that the Romans were worshipping the name Yahweh as their chief pagan deity as far back as 650 BCE which is way before the Hebrews even came into contact with the Romans.

#3. It is proven that the Romans forced the Hebrews to forsake the worship of their own deity to worship Yahweh. Which makes you ask why would the Romans force the Hebrews to worship Yahweh if they were already
worshipping Yahweh?

#4. It is shown that the proofs that Yahweh worshippers use to promote the name Yahweh are cut up, manipulated half references, or contradictory false references that really are no proof at all.

#5. It is proven that Jupiter / Jove / Yahweh is the abomination of desolation.

People have all kinds of reasons for not repenting of their worship of the abomination of desolation, and idol called Yahweh. *Some won't repent because they are more concerned with having fellowship and friends and staying with their pagan churches who worship idols then repenting of their idolatry. *Others won't repent because they don't have another name to run to and feel that until they do, they shouldn't have to repent of their idolatry. *Others don't believe the punishments to idolaters promised by the Creator YHWH in scripture to be true. *Others think their rabbi's, priests, or leaders of their congregation are perfect, know everything, and are incapable of making a mistake, so they believe if their church leaders say Yahweh is the name it must be. Whatever their reasons, or excuses people have for not repenting, the scriptures say there are brutal punishments awaiting idolaters. Let us examine the scriptures below.

Deu 8:19-20 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget YHWH thy Creator, and walk after other deities, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of YHWH your Creator. Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev 22:15 For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Jos 24:20 If ye forsake YHWH, and serve strange deities, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

Deu 29:18-20 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from YHWH our Creator, to go [and] serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: YHWH will not spare him, but then the anger of YHWH and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and YHWH shall blot out his name from under heaven.

In Closing We have made this study out of brotherly love to prevent people from worshipping a heathen idol, and to prevent them from receiving the brutal punishments that the scripture promises. It is funny that people who still choose to ignore the facts and worship the name Yahweh, will not show us where we are wrong through scriptures facts and references, and try and save us. That is because those people can't prove it wrong. They just choose to ignore the facts and live in a lie. We welcome anyone to try and prove this study wrong and we encourage you to take it to your priests, rabbis, church leaders, and congregations for them to try and prove it wrong through scriptures facts and references. Remember you can try and fool yourself but you can't fool the Creator YHWH.

Below is an example of how the yahweh worshippers disgustingly replace the Creators true name with the name yahweh, which is the abomination of desolation. Look below.

(snip perversions with "Yahweh")
