    John Bunyan's Bible

I put this together from the research I have been doing. John Bunyan – Geneva Bible Only?

    John Bunyan's Bible

This morning I e-mailed six websites that have the undocumented claim that John Bunyan used the Geneva Bible -- asking them if they have a source for that information. I have already heard back from one who checked it out and replied that Bunyan’s use of the Geneva Bible seems to be a legend...

    John Bunyan's Bible

From my own research on this, last night and today: From The Fear of God by John Bunyan (First printed AD 1679), London: The Religious Tract Society, 1839 https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_fear_of_God/eGwEAAAAQAAJ Bunyan on page 2 quotes a portion of Hebrews 12:28 (mislabeled 12:23)...

    John Bunyan's Bible

Thanks. Is the Textus Receptus Academy an open group? (I got out of all the Facebook groups I was in, and basically only have an account to maintain our singing and church page. That is why I ask.)

    John Bunyan's Bible

Does anyone have any primary source (or reliable secondary source) information on what English translation of the Bible that the author of Pilgrim's Progress, John Bunyan, used? I have seen a couple of assertions stating he used the Geneva Bible, but just statements without citations. It would...

editions without the heavenly witnesses - Aldine, Gerbelius, Capito, Colines

I probably should add a little context to this. In an update at the bottom of his post at ETC blog, Elijah wrote, “Regarding my statement that precipitated the ‘lazy, dim-witted, and emotionally insecure’ comments, I meant nothing negative.” I take him at his word, since he explains that he...

editions without the heavenly witnesses - Aldine, Gerbelius, Capito, Colines

Thanks, Steven. I appreciate your explanation about Elijah not constraining himself by the TBS definition. Obviously that was true of what he presented. Yet, after giving the TBS definition and then presenting information outside it, he left no criteria for those others being TRs other than...

editions without the heavenly witnesses - Aldine, Gerbelius, Capito, Colines

Am I missing something about Elijah's post? He wrote, After agreeing with the TBS definition (and citing their list that seems to contain about 24 editions), he goes on mention without explanation three editions not in that list: Aldine (1518), Gerbellius’ edition (1521), and Wolfgang Köpfel’s...

    S. Franklin Logsdon - the correction of a David Cloud error on his excellent testimony

I have not yet posted this anywhere, but it is relevant to this thread, so I am posting here for the first time. I contacted the Lockman Foundation with some specific questions about Lockman, Logsdon, etc. They did not directly answer the questions, but sent this in an e-mail: Here is our...

    S. Franklin Logsdon - the correction of a David Cloud error on his excellent testimony

I need to make a correction on the source. I gave page 42 of the Tampa Bay Times, which is how Newspapers.com had this labeled. However, the actual name on the newspaper is St. Petersburg Times, and it is on page 10, section D. Not sure why it is that way in Newspapers.com. Probably two papers...

    S. Franklin Logsdon - the correction of a David Cloud error on his excellent testimony

“Dr. S. Franklin Logsdon was acquainted with Dewey Lockman, president of The Lockman Foundation, prior to Mr. Lockman’s death in 1974.” Is is just me? This sentence does not look like something that should be in a well-thought official statement of a major publisher. What does it even mean...
