There are only three known pictures of Simonides (two photographs and one lithograph of an artists sketch).

1. A lithographed sketch from an unknown artist, dated circa 1859-1898.

2. A British Museum photograph of Simonides (BL MS Add. 42502B). I do not know the exact date and age of this photograph. It's likely that Malcolm Choat from Macquarie University will have information on its provenance. Perhaps taken circa late 1850's? -early 1860's?

3. A third and final photograph of Simonides, which according to one source (see below) is aged approximately 40? According to Kevin McGrane (Page 72) the photograph is dated to the time of the Sinaiticus controversy or affair, circa 1860? - early 1860's?

Definitely not a man to be trusted (a pathological and inveterate liar). Look into his devious eyes.
