the Book of Numbers (5: 26 - 30; 6: 5 - 6, 11 - 12, 17 - 18, 22; 7 : 4 - 5, 12 - 13, 15 - 26). Parchment.

My Rough Translation, (with my comments interspersed here and there in brackets etc)

“Sinaiatic-Juvanian manuscripts, which Tischendorf did not deign [Or: "honour" "condescend"] to pay [Or: "give his"] attention to [...] On the binding boards of one book, inside I saw two scraps [Or: "fragments"] of the very Bible that was transferred to Tischendorf for printing [i.e. Codex Sinaiticus]. They were glued to it with sealing wax for its cover. It was done by a bookbinder, but when is unknown. I carefully peeled them off and took them for myself to attach them to the manuscript itself [i.e. Codex Sinaiticus]. These scraps [Or: "fragments"] are very small [...] On both scraps [Or: "fragments"] there are visible corrections of the text. Their handwriting is completely similar to that of the entire Sinai Bible [i.e. Codex Sinaiticus]. This accidental discovery gave me reason to think again about the fate of this Bible [i.e. Codex Sinaiticus]. It was evident that it had been in great neglect for a very long time, and was even soiled and dirty, as evidenced by the large stains and blackness on [Or: "darkness of" "the dark colour of"] the fragments of it that I keep. It was obvious that the Sinai-ites did not look after it, perhaps because they did not trust its text [I.e. the Arian-ized and Apollianius text which Uspenky complains of loudly]. I think that its tattered [Or: "cracked" "disheveled"] sheets were used to bind other manuscripts BEFORE the year 1734

Sound familiar? = exact same conclusion that Nikolas Sarris came to, but based on completely different criteria to Uspensky's conclusion! Note end, Uspensky continues]
