Acts 3:18 (AV)
But those things,
which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets,
that Christ should suffer,
he hath so fulfilled.

ESV
But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets,
that his Christ would suffer,
he thus fulfilled.

Acts 3:18, The ECM text places the pronoun "his" modifying "Christ," while the Byz text says "his prophets." The MSS Ψ 307* 1678 cop-meg conflate the two.

Chrysostom

“But what God before had showed by the mouth of all His Prophets, that His Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled.” (v. 18.)

And again, * * * “Those things,” he says, “which God before had showed by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled.”

SA’
The Chrysostom position is questionable, based on the English text, so the Greek needs checking.

The first spot has the double “his”, the second spot has “his prophets”.

Steven Avery I checked the online ECM apparatus for Acts 3:18 and it indicates that Chrysostom supports the ECM text.

David Robert Palmer - does ECM claim to review the Greek Latin and Syriac texts of every ECW entry for accuracy?

DRP
Steven Avery I thought to. I hope so. (That doesn't sound good.)

And again, he foretold, indeed, through the mouth of all the prophets that he would suffer, he fulfilled thus.

but rather, what he timidly said there, To the certain will and foreknowledge of God who gave it, receiving it, this expands inwardly. But God, who foretold through the mouth of all the prophets that his Christ would suffer, fulfilled it in this way.
