5 Simonides hatte die Hermeneia des Dionysios von Phouma mit Zusatzen „angercichert“ und aufdem Frontispiz die Handschrift 300 Jahre zurückdatiert. Urn dies zu untermauern, fälschte er zusatzlich die entsprechende Inschrifl im Kloster Dionysios: „Not only did Simonidis alter the dates of this first page, but he also went to Dionysios’ cell of Saint John the Timios Prodromos and altered the date in the dedicatory inscription above the south window, from ΑΨΙΑ' (=1711)to ΑΥΑ' (=1401) and from ανλα' (=1731) to αυλα' (=1431)“ (Kakavas 2008, 79). Vgl. auch Gedeon 1885, 239, Vlachos 1903,167, Dimaras 1937-38, 230-232.

5 Simonides had “enriched” the Hermeneia of Dionysius of Phouma with additions and dated the manuscript back 300 years on the frontispiece. To support this, he also forged the corresponding inscription in the monastery of Dionysios: “Not only did Simonidis alter the dates of this first page, but he also went to Dionysios' cell of Saint John the Timios Prodromos and altered the date in the dedicatory inscription above the south window, from ΑΨΙΑ' (=1711) to ΑΥΑ' (=1401) and from ανλα' (=1731) to αυλα' (=1431)” (Kakavas 2008, 79). See also Gedeon 1885, 239, Vlachos 1903,167, Dimaras 1937-38, 230-232.
