(3) Again; Cod. s is prone to exhibit, on extraordinary occasions, a single word in a line, as at—

Mark 10:29
Matthew 15:30
Luke 14:13

This became a prevailing fashion in the vith century; e.g. when the Cod. Laudianus of the Acts (E) was written. The only trace of anything of the kind in Cod. B is at the Genealogy of our Lord.

S. Luke xiv. 13.

Hi Eureka,

Has anyone ever done a paper that shows how various manuscripts place special lists, single words on a line?

There are limited sections by:

John William Burgon -
"This became a prevailing fashion in the vi-th century; e.g. when the Cod. Laudianus of the Acts (E) was written. The only trace of anything of the kind in Cod. B is at the Genealogy of our Lord."

Peter Head

Timothy W. Mitchell

This feature is very common in Sinaiticus, as Timothy N. Mitchell showed here, giving 39 examples! :

Codex Sinaiticus as a Window into Early Christian Worship
Timothy N. Mitchell

Here is an example:

Mark 7:21-22 (KJV)
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed
evil thoughts,
adulteries,
fornications,
murders,
Thefts,
covetousness,
wickedness,
deceit,
lasciviousness,
an evil eye,
blasphemy,
pride,
foolishness:
21
εϲωθεν γαρ εκ τηϲ
καρδιαϲ των ανων
οι διαλογιϲμοι οι
κακοι εκπορευο
ται
πορνιαι
κλοπαι
φονοι

22
μοιχιαι
πλεονεξιαι
πονηριαι
δολοϲ
αϲελγια
οφθαλμοϲ πονηροϲ
βλαϲφημια
ϋπερηφανια
αφροϲυνη
