Tepl mythology from Benjamin Wilkinson - part of two streams - (Erasmus to Nolan to Wilkinson)

Yes, Glenn Conjurske often wrote well.

There is also some material from Doug Kutilek on some other threads, e.g put Kutilek and Wilkinson in the search bar. It is very rare that I would recommend his material, Thomas Ross then responded, sort of defending Wilkinson, but the problem is that on these issues Wilkinson was generally wrong.

However the Conjurske material is really directly on the main issue.

Another spot where Wilkinson sloppy writing and errors creates confusion.

Michael George
"Stephen and Beza astonished and confounded the world of their day by the unearthing of old and lost Greek manuscripts of the New Testament." "This later edition of the Received Text is in reality a Greek New Testament brought out by Waldensian influence" (Edgar, D.D. 'Bibles of England' 1889, p.347; Fuller, 'Which Bible', p. 210).

=========================

Michael George - this quote is likely incorrect and misattributed.

First, Andrew Edgar's (1831-1890) text is online, and does not have this quote.

The Bibles of England: A Plain Account for Plain People of the Principal Versions of the Bible in English
https://books.google.com/books?id=AuUaqb3KJ3oC&pg=PA347

It does not even have the "astonished and confounded" part.

The quote comes from Benjamin Wilkinson p. 23:

Our Authorized Bible Vindicated (1930)
https://archive.org/.../doctrine-bible.../page/n22/mode/1up

And Wilkinson is very unreliable in referencing the the Waldensian Bibles.

My suggestion, Michael, you and Mike Ferrando, and Cody Parrot and Nick Sayers should simply remove the misattributed quote, it is beyond rehabilitation.
