Constantine Simonides discussed General Kayatasus (Anastasios Karatasos) in a short bio of his Kallinikos/Kyriakos. Turns out Kyriakos wrote a book on the Greek Revolution in 1836 and the Greek Orthodox holy communion in 1847. So he was not fictitious or a Simonides alter-ego

Only one purported eyewitness apparently came forward to defend Simonides: the
priest-monk Kallinikos. But he was never in the least credible, and was rather easily
flushed out as an alter ego of Simonides himself. Kallinikos was an excellent
eyewitness to everything that Simonides did only because he was none other than
Simonides himself, and the master forger had his time cut out creating fake
correspondence with fake dates with this fake personage to generate an fake
backstory.7

Chieftain in English rather than General

Anastasios Karatasos (1764-1830) was an emblematic figure in the struggle of 1821. He is rightfully considered the most important fighter of 1821 from Macedonia. Starting from Naoussa in 1822 (he was born in Dovra), he plowed Greece, participating in many battles of the nation against the Turks from 1822 until his death in 1830. He rallied around him many Macedonian chieftains who showed him their respect and appreciation, considering him their leader.

The above document comes from the Greek General Staff and records the chieftains who were under the command of Karatasos in 1824 in Hydra when troops were called from all over Greece to protect the island from an imminent attack by Ibrahim. Many well-known Macedonians from Halkidiki and non-chieftains are listed with the number of soldiers each had under his command. Binos, Gatsos, Doumbiotis, Dim. Kyriazis, K. Stylidiotis, Thomas Vavdinos, Emm. Nanos Olympios, Giorgos Kassandrinos, Emm. Hydraios, Apostolaras, Moschovakis, Kalamidas, Anastasios Chimeftos, Angelos Sykiotis, Vlachomichalis, Tsatsaronis, Thanasis Sarafianos, Giorgos Zorbas, etc.
