summary of the yahweh problem

Steven Avery

As Hillary Clinton famously asked in a different context
.. "what difference does it make?".

And the answer is .. all the difference in the world, it is a matter of spiritual life and death.

First you have the simple problem that yahweh is a faux name, or more precisely, it is not a Hebrew name at all. It is not even close to the true tetragram pronunciation. The number of syllables is wrong, the letter v is wrongly changed to a w, and the vowels are all wacky.

Thus, the usage of yahweh is necessarily dishonouring to the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Tetragram is pronounced, even if we were not up on all the scholarship, the pure word of God shows us the proper pronunciation.

Psalm 83:18
That men may know that thou,
whose name alone is JEHOVAH,

art the most high over all the earth.

The question arises, can you allow for Yehovah? As it would be spoken in modern Hebrew? I believe that is essentially equivalent and acceptable.

Second, you have the problem that yahweh is actually the name of the major pagan deity that opposes the God of Israel. Thus, a demon. Jupiter of Acts 14 and 19 was the deity called upon by the pagans in the desecration of Antiochus Ephiphanes c. 170 BC. A vicious enemy of the Hebrew people and the Jewish faith.

Acts 14:12
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter;
and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

Acts 14:13
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city,
brought oxen and garlands unto the gates,
and would have done sacrifice with the people.

Acts 19:35
And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus,
what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana,
and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

Remember, this is not complicated at all. Jove is equivalent to Jupiter. Why? Simple. Jove-pater in Latin is Jupiter. Now it gets interesting. Jove itself in Latin is not pronounced like our English word jovial, or happy. Jove is actually pronounced ... yahweh.

This is a pagan entity that seeks prayer, travail, worship and praise. Thus, Nehemia Gordon not only asked:

Have you been praying to Jupiter?

Nehemia also pointed out that:

"The greatest trick Jupiter ever pulled was convincing the world he isn't worshiped."

A third problem is that this attention toward a demonic entity leads to imbalances and errors everywhere. An example is how yahshua, a totally absurd and counterfeit fabrication, having nothing to do with Hebrew, becomes a necessary complement to yahweh. An incredible example of error-begets-error.

John 5:43
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not:
if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Also, it becomes virtually impossible to have a high view of the Bible as the word of God. In the case of Homestead Heritage we saw various failures in doctrine and understanding, once they had embraced the dynamic duo of deception, yahweh and yahshua. E.g. Not only was the imaginary corruption yahshua brought into the water bapism but the rational for water baptism now includes one of the most puzzling and even weird doctrinal claims you will ever see (emphasis added):

"We believe in believer’s baptism (immersion) as a pledge of the old nature into the sacrificial death of Jesus as well as into the lordship of Jesus and that therefore takes place in the name of Jesus."

What We Believe
How could any real Christian talk about pledging the old nature? And this is not an offhand slip, it is in a carefully written statement of faith.
The moorings of Homestead Heritage were totally shaken by their Bible confusions and yahwehism.

Now let us return to Homestead Heritage beliefs.

Lest we get diverted, some basics. This was first given on 4-15-2017 in p. 420, now tweaked to be a bit more expansive and clearer. Major emphasis ... all this is exceedingly easy to understand. You do not need to be a seminarian, a linguistics expert, or even know how to read Hebrew (although that is a mild help.)

HOMESTEAD HERITAGE and the disaster of worship unto the devil YAHWEH (Jupiter).

1) A central tenet of Homestead Heritage is "Yahweh-worship", with prayer and travail and songs all dedicated to that entity. "todahhh, yahwehh", "oh, yahwehhh" rings out from the prayer rooms. Often there simply is no reference to the Lord Jesus Christ (in fact, even there, see yahshua below, which is often considered an improvement.)

2) By their own words, written, Homestead Heritage does not know with any sureness or conviction how to pronounce the Tetragram, JHVH / YHVH. They do work with what is an errant guess attempt. And this is based on liberal unbelieving scholarship and does not match sound Masoretic Text scholarship. Nor does it match the known theophoric names. Yahweh as the tetragram is modern liberal sophistry.

3) Homestead Heritage leadership is now 100% aware (with the possible exception of Blair Adams) of the powerful evidence that calling on "yahweh" is not only wrong, it is the same as calling on the devil Jupiter. This can be confirmed in one hour by asking anyone familiar with classical Latin to give them the pronunciation of Jove. Which is yahweh, or at the widest a vocalization range from yowe to yahweh. Jupiter, the enemy of Hebraic and Christian faith, is Jove-pater == father yahweh.

4) "Yahshua" as an alternative to Jesus is now brought in as well. This "yahshua" is a totally absurd usage, created by the sacred name movement in the 1930s, only for the purpose of being a cohort of connivance to the devil "yahweh". "Yahshua" is not Hebrew, or Aramaic, it is not a name. Brought into scripture, into baptism, and song, it is a disaster and abomination.

5) Yet, even knowing the truth, and without any actual conviction as to the pronunciation of JHVH, Homestead Heritage desperately hold on to their yahweh-worship. Why? It is only because of the bondage caused by being priests and servants of yahweh. There is nothing Christian involved.

Spiritual principality .. the explanation.

Acts 14:13
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city,
brought oxen and garlands unto the gates,
and would have done sacrifice with the people.

Ephesians 6:11-12
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Today, and as long as they are yahwehista, there is only a very thin veneer of Christianity at Homested Heritage. Any remnants of Christianity are only there to mask the yahwehism.

Yes, this could change, excellently, however only by totally and completely discarding yahweh and yahshua.

In the wonderful name of Jesus,
