OLD LATIN
Leon .. I have notes on two mss.
Harl, again, I have notes on two mss, Porson-Wiseman mention a group of 3

Also Speculum date issues.
And final date issues for Freis and Leon.

Corbie is fine.

leon1 - Lemovicensis - pro
leon 2 - margin
harl ( one or two Harleian ms)

=====================================================

LEON MS

Lemovicensis
(leon1) - yes, in varied/mutilated form .. Scrivener
(Placed under Vulgate by Waltz - L = Lemovicensis IXc "Mixed" text, containing a part of 1 John 5:7)
Maynard p. 51
923 AD.

HARLEIAN MS (moved below)

=================================================

Seiler - William Wright
https://books.google.com/books?id=IQhNAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA637

Vauxcelles margin ms. could be included if properly identified - on the next page it says 8th century, such early mixed mss would do well in Wikipedia and in some cases in Witness

p. 639 - can this Corbie ms. be identified?

======================================================

Jenkins Bede ms - Maynard p. 50
MS BALL 177 12 c......(Bede)...........................YES...................p.239 (Westcott? Naples?)

Would like to confirm this as a yes. Is there the Harleianis lectionary entry ?
Needs more research to confirm.
Now included in Wikipedia using the Scrivener source

=========================================

Grantley - RGA p. 45
Codex Harleianus (London, British Library, ms Harley 1772; eighth century)

=========================================

Witness of God
[Davidson] But the Vulgate has the passage now .... absent from the oldest and the best, such as the codd. Amiatinus, Harleianus,

Could be a totally different ms.

=========================================

Friend
Harleian ms. 1772 What I see: f.137.v.line.???. et sanguin. Et spiritus est qui testificatur. Xristos est veritifas. Quiniom tres sunt quia f.138.r.line.001 testimonium dant, Spiritus, aqua, sanguis === The article in that book gave the number as 7551.

Also, from the book/article it looked like 7551 did not have the verse in it. He went on to talk about a little manuscript with the verse in it, but did not give the name. He said "13th or 14th century" but that was all he said about it. Did I understand right?

SA: Which book, article? Likely (William Wright - Seiler)

=================================================

The other two Harleian ms. that can be included - Seiler (William Wright) seems to improve on Porson, next url, can also get Burgess

Porter - Textual Criticism
http://books.google.com/books?id=QRIaAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA502

So Porter says there are two Harleian manuscripts, one with margin, one in the text !
7551-2
7551-1

=================================================

Porson

=================================================

Pohle says no on one Harleian - no specific ms.

Other stuff with Mike Ferrando
  • I don't have Pope Eusebius (though I do remember looking that up). I do have the other Ambrose quote in my paper: big paper it is an appendix and KJV arguments paper better and expanded.

Ambrose is a good example of transposition since the text is very close to the Codex Cavensis

Ambrose was a Greek father as well. And a number of scholars defend his authorship of the work.
